THE PRENTICE SALVER
Norman Prentice was the Leagues' secretary/treasurer for more than thirty years. In addition he assisted with the fixtures and produced the handbook virtually single-handedly. It is something of an understatement to say that his contribution to the league was immense.
In their wish to mark Norman's memory the Executive Committee have introduced a trophy, THE PRENTICE SALVER, which will be awarded annually to the club which is deemed to have performed most efficiently from an administrative standpoint.
There are two reasons for this. Firstly, Norman was an outstanding administrator. Secondly, the League is keen to see an improvement in administration standards generally.
The criteria on which clubs will be assessed are
- timely and accurate submission of information e.g. club officials, fixtures, results cards.
- prompt payment of fees
- match penalty points
- attendance at AGM
The award comprises a silver salver, to be retained for a year, together with a cheque for £100.
We are pleased to announce that the winners in 2007 are
Wollaston LTC
BS, League Chairman
